The project
The 2-storey building could be constructed using the timber construction method. As many parts as possible were to be built from the board stack elements, which the building owner manufactures in his own production. The symmetrically arranged apartments are each accessed from the centrally located staircase.
The construction
In order to meet the client's concerns and to create a pleasant living environment, the supporting structure consists mainly of prefabricated optiholz board stack modules. These carry the loads of the floor slabs and the roof, transfer them in the walls to the foundation and, together with OSB planking, serve as bracing.
The challenge
Another challenge was the gallery floor support or its span. The solution is a steel angle at the bottom chord of a visible truss. Since the properties in question are multi-family dwellings, great attention was paid to sound insulation between the apartments. The desired sound insulation values were achieved by cladding the board stack everywhere with a decoupled gypsum fiber planking.
