The project
The upper floor of the new building was mainly used as additional office space, while the ground floor was used as a vehicle parking garage. The timber construction engineering services at the work yard included the structural analysis, the tendering as well as the works planning of the timber construction.
The construction method
The new upper floor was built as a wooden structure and placed on top of the reinforced concrete ground floor. The entire building was constructed to the Minergie standard. The walls were prefabricated in the factory in timber frame construction with an insulation thickness of 240 mm. A large-format Eternit slate panel (Swisspearl) served as the facade cladding. For the factory planning, this was provided to the contractor in the form of a CAD-3d model with all the required machining. The interior cladding of gypsum fiberboard was installed on site. The roof was constructed as a simple beam layer. The basis for the sloping insulation above is a three-layer board, which was also used as a stiffening layer.
