The project
The Klotzholz company needs more space for production. In addition to the carpentry and joinery, there is also room for the horses from Adrian Wicki's wife's riding school in the new hall. The apartment on the first floor is to be converted into an office at a later date. To ensure that the family is not left without an apartment, the hall has already been planned in such a way that a penthouse apartment can be built on the large roof.
The construction method
The skeleton construction is tailored to the needs of the client, who erects the hall himself. Simple connections that require little joinery work and can be erected without complicated fasteners were used. The walls of the apartment consist of timber frame walls.
The challenge
There was close cooperation with the client/builder. This meant that optimized detailed solutions had to be found that were tailored to the requirements of Klotzholz.
