The Generationenhaus Langnau wins an award at the Prix Lignum 2024 in the Central Region. The competition, which has a nationwide reach and represents the multifaceted nature of the timber (construction) industry, takes place every three years. The prize recognizes the innovative and forward-looking use of wood in buildings.
Central Region Award for the Generation House Langnau
The allocation of the building rights plot by the municipality made it possible to realize a non-profit housing project that proves that alternative forms of housing, communal living and inclusion can also be implemented in rural areas. Langnau has thus been given a new village building block that fits sensitively into the spatial and social context of the village, while at the same time demonstrating how sustainable, high-quality, environmentally conscious and caring housing can be designed in the countryside.
