Salon Timbatec in Vienna: Implementation planning of timber construction

At the Timbatec Salon in Vienna, everything revolved around the question of what implementation planning needs to look like in order to meet the requirements of timber construction. Around 40 guests discussed experiences from the LeopoldQuartier and practical approaches for better interfaces.

Around 40 guests from the fields of architecture, planning and execution met in Vienna on November 20 for the Timbatec Salon. The focus was on the question of what execution planning needs to look like in order for it to really work for timber construction companies. Tamir Pixner opened the evening with insights into the collaboration with UBM on the LeopoldQuartier, which was converted to timber (hybrid) construction as part of the development. This also included impact sound tests on the Timbatec test bench in Switzerland, which provided important insights for the execution details.

Sustainable construction requires maximum sound insulation with minimum use of resources. This calls for new floor structures – preferably using ecological building materials. At our impact sound test bench, we offer our customers comparative measurements on a small scale. This saves costs and time in the development of new floor structures.
Nils Jansen from Weissenseer Holz-System-Bau then presented three current projects. He went into particular detail about the detailed planning and assembly in the LeopoldQuartier and described where interfaces get stuck - and how to solve them better. The open discussion that followed showed how great the need for a common understanding between planning and execution is.
The evening was rounded off with a delicious buffet at Heurigen Maly.
