For the first time, the new technology of Timber Structures 3.0 can be demonstrated one-to-one. The new TS3 endurance test rig is currently being set up at the Bern University of Applied Sciences in Biel. As part of the ongoing CTI project, this will be used to test and demonstrate the possible applications of TS3 technology. The inauguration of the test stand will take place on May 16.
It is the great
innovation in timber construction: The technology of Timber Structures 3.0 glues together
solid, glulam or cross-laminated timber components on the face side, thus enabling
and thus enables point-supported, multi-axis load-bearing slabs or folding structures - and
in any shape and size.
Revolution in timber construction
This technology opens up completely new constructional and
design worlds that were previously inaccessible to timber construction. Building
with wood becomes even more efficient: Supports, panels, done.
Tests on the way to market readiness
Development tests for the new
new technology are currently in full swing. As part of the many
tests, a further step on the way to market maturity will be to build a
test stand as a proof-of-concept and demonstration object at the Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH in Biel.
University of Applied Sciences BFH in Biel. The location is the courtyard of the
BFH Department of Architecture, Wood and Construction. The purpose of the test rig is to
possible applications of the TS3 system
test and
demonstrate.
Screw foundations for a safe stand
The basis for the construction of the test stand is formed
is not formed by a concrete foundation, but by screw foundations from the
from the Krinner company. However, the soil at the BFH-AHB in Biel is very soft.
Therefore, screw foundations of up to 6.5 m in length had to be
on which the supports of the endurance test stand are built,
as a short Video shows.
Invitation to the inauguration on May 16
The TS3 endurance test stand will be inaugurated on May 16 at 6 p.m. as part of the
S-WIN conference "From research to practice: new solutions for timber construction" in Biel.
Biel. The inauguration will also include a live demonstration of adhesive grouting. Interested parties
are cordially invited to the Bern University of Applied Sciences, Solothurnstrasse 102 in
Biel. A Registration registration until 10.
